The Fear Antidote

Apr 23, 2019

Since I have a business to help women leave corporate, I come across a lot of fear.

Fear that they’re not good enough.

Fear that they aren’t ready.

Fear that their partner or spouse won’t understand.

Fear that their contribution to their household income will change.

But all of that fear seems to be tied to one thing: Money.

Our relationship with money is impacted by so many factors, but it all goes back to the story we tell ourselves about money.

A prominent money story that I carried around with me for a couple of decades was that making money was hard work.

I grew up hearing that money didn’t grow on trees.

And transitioning from a reliable paycheck to getting paid when I’d earned it was… let’s say… challenging.

I went into my new business with the idea that the harder I worked, the more money I would make.

Here’s when my money story changed...

Making Decisions In Your Business

Apr 16, 2019

If you knew a way to make decisions that would leave you feeling in alignment all the damn time, would you follow it?

This is your authority as laid out in your human design body graph chart.

The Authority in your human design chart is indicative of how you are best designed to make decisions.

Like most things in human design it seems far more complicated than it is, so I have compiled a series of quotes to break down how each authority best makes decisions.

Most adults are making decisions in ways that our environment encourages, rather than what is aligned to their design.

When we are kids, we tend to follow our natural authority to make decisions because the work force hasn’t forced us to conform yet.

Personally, I have self projected authority, which means that I need to talk through decisions before I make them.

When I was younger I took full advantage of the high school guidance counselor to talk though advanced...

What is Human Design?

Apr 09, 2019

If you could get a better understanding of why you act the way you do just by looking at a chart, would you be interested?

That is human design and I am ALWAYS interested in uncovering things about myself and others that are not readily available on the surface.

I was at social media marketing world a couple of weeks ago and I was sitting at a bar for happy hour. I started chatting with the woman next to me and after getting to know each other a bit, the conversation lead to human design.

I asked Amy, sheepishly, because you never know how people are going to respond to the woo… if she knew her human design type. Her eyes went wide and she said, I was JUST about to ask you the same thing. We geeked out over our types, she a Manifesting Generator and I, a projector and how reading our charts changed the way we moved through the world and gave us more permission to be ourselves.

Human design is a system that brings together elements of I Ching, astrology, the chakra system,...

Asking for help

Apr 02, 2019

Do You Have a Hard Time Asking for Help? I do. ‍

No matter how badass you are or how together your business is, chances are you need some help in some area of your life.

I have always had a hard time asking for help, but it’s funny that EVERY time I ‘break down and ask’ (see my negative beliefs about that coming through). I ALWAYS feel better after I receive the help I need. Example shared in this video.
What is the one thing that you have been struggling to try and figure out or make work in your business or your life?

Let me know what you are going to ask for help with THIS WEEK that will completely change the game for you by emailing [email protected]

Tell Me What You Want, What You Really, Really Want

Mar 12, 2019

If I were sitting across from you right now and asked you what you wanted from life, would you have an answer?

I’ve asked the question “what do you want?” to so many people and it’s mind blowing how many people have absolutely no idea.

But that used to be me, for the longest time I thought that what I wanted for my life was the traditional corporate career, working my way up the corporate ladder, a 401k, success in all the ‘right ways’. But when I stopped to ask myself what I actually wanted and looked around at the life I was creating I realized “oh shit, this isn’t what I want at all”.

I had the come to Jesus moment where I had to look at my life and ask myself what I wanted, and since it didn’t fit into this mold. I had no idea.

So I started looking at the individual elements of my life to gain some perspective making a list of what made up my current reality and what I wanted for my life.

By getting clear on what I...

Corporate Independence Day

Mar 05, 2019

One year ago this week, I quit my corporate oil career. “Knees weak, arms are heavy there’s vomit on his sweater already, mom’s spaghetti. He’s nervous but on the surface he looks calm and ready to drop bombs, but he keeps on forgetting what he wrote down...

This Eminem intro song perfectly sums me up on the morning I quit my corporate career. Well, everything but the vomit and the fact that I am a she.

I had spent five years building relationships, climbing the corporate ladder, getting accolades and performance bonuses. This was going to be a bomb.

The day had come, the day I had been counting down for a year. IT WAS HAPPENING! Honestly, I felt like a little kid asking for permission to go to the bathroom in class. But, I had made the decision to do this thing.

I told my boss calmly and confidently that I had the opportunity to start my own business and if I didn’t do it, I would always regret it. I was met with stunned silence, and then...

Self Actualization

Feb 19, 2019

Remember learning about Maslow's Hierarchy of needs in school? Back then it was something I learned for a test, and quickly forgot all about. But now, looking back I'm a bit more interested in the top of that pyramid.

Self-actualization, according to Maslow, “might be phrased as the desire to becoming more and more what one is, to become everything that one is capable of becoming.” Self-actualization is basically to become the best version of yourself, and since each of us is different self-actualization manifests itself differently for each person.

At this point in my life I believe that my version of self actualization is in the creation and growth of my company, helping women create lives they love. Yours could be something completely different, an expression of your art, or being a mom.

You have to fulfill the other four lower level needs first, before your journey into self actualization. In case you’re like me and don’t remember what those four other...

Stop Telling Yourself You Can't

Feb 12, 2019

Becoming more conscious and aware of my interpretations about reality is a concept that I was exposed to as a young kid, and when I say young I was about 11 and my dad made my brother and I attend a seminar about it for kids.

He had the right idea, get them in young, start 'em early, but to my developing brain the place felt like a cult. This dude just kept telling me that I didn’t like chocolate ice cream, I just THOUGHT I liked chocolate ice cream and I was like, ugh, no bro, I like chocolate ice cream. You’ve lost me.

So I opposed any such discussions around perception versus reality vehemently until the age of 26. But in the year leading up to my exodus of my corporate oil career in March of ‘18, that changed.

I had been working on my mindset... but mindset is such a vague term so I’ll break it down a little further. I had been learning and applying concepts around becoming far more conscious of the stories I was...

What is keeping us stuck?

Jan 29, 2019

I went snowmobiling last weekend for my boyfriend's 30th birthday in the Canadian Rockies. If you've never been it is an absolute blast and I HIGHLY recommend it.

But what on earth does that have to do with being 'stuck' in your business. Hold on, I'll get there, I promise.

So we are climbing up the mountain doing hairpin turns until we reach this awesome bowl of snow. We get 'play' time where we can drive super fast and up an down hills with jumps and go a little crazy, which I think is the whole point of snowmobiling.

About half way through our play time, my boyfriend's dad, Gary calls me over.

He says, Lauren, did you know your snowmobile is on 'eco mode'.

'Huh?' is my response. I have no idea what that means.

He tells me to press a button by my left knee and a little green light goes off on the dash. Ok, cool, so I do another lap.

AND HOLY CRAP. I AM FLYING!

I am going so much faster, I am having so much more fun and I am not having to work as...

Breaking Free & Getting Focused

Jan 15, 2019

When I first started my business I was completely elated by the financial, time and location freedom that I had granted myself. I was really going for it, I was FINALLY doing it!

But after a while, when the 'newness' wore off, I found myself completely unfocused with all of my new freedom. For the first time, in my life, I wasn't answering to anyone for results. Not my parents, my teachers, my professors, or my boss. It was all up to me. Now that can be a liberating realization, or it can be a daunting one. Sure, I knew this going in, but when it really hits you, you start to take a look at what your day looks like and exactly what you are accomplishing.

I found myself spending time on things that didn't create any real momentum in my business. It was sort of just busy work, and consuming other people's content, learning as much as I could. Basically I was doing business in my head, I wasn't actually DOING business.

I have a lot of beliefs about myself that totally...
